Why Buy Used Keysight Test Equipment

Used Keysight instruments typically cost 40–70% less than new list prices. A new Keysight 34410A DMM lists around €2,800. A used, fully tested unit from RF Labs comes in well below that — request a quote for current pricing on any model.

Cost is only part of it. Here’s what RF Labs delivers with every unit:

  • Functional testing to OEM specifications. Each instrument goes through a defined test sequence before listing. We don’t sell untested units as “working.”
  • Calibration documentation. Units ship with calibration certificates where applicable. Need traceable calibration to a specific standard? We can arrange that.
  • Condition grading. “Fully refurbished” means cosmetically restored, tested, and calibrated. “Tested used” means functionally verified with normal cosmetic wear. Both grades are clearly marked per unit.
  • Warranty included. Standard warranty covers functional defects after delivery.
  • Shipping across the EU. Typical lead time: 3–7 business days to most European destinations after order confirmation.

Keysight Signal Generators

Keysight N5172B — EXG X-Series Vector Signal Generator

  • Frequency range: 9 kHz – 6 GHz
  • Phase noise: –127 dBc/Hz at 1 GHz, 20 kHz offset (typical)
  • Modulation: AM, FM, ΦM, pulse; vector modulation with optional ARB
  • Key applications: Receiver test, production test, R&D prototyping for LTE, Wi-Fi, 5G sub-6 GHz
  • Status: Available

The N5172B replaced the older E4438C ESG series for most signal generation tasks. It draws less power, offers faster switching, and integrates cleanly with Keysight’s X-Series ecosystem. Our unit is tested across its full frequency range.

Need a signal generator but in a different range or from a different manufacturer? Compare with Rohde & Schwarz signal generators — we carry the SMA100A, SMBV100A, and SMU200A.

Keysight Digital Multimeters

Keysight 34410A — 6½-Digit Digital Multimeter

  • DC voltage accuracy: 0.0030% (24-hour spec)
  • Measurement speed: Up to 10,000 readings/s at 4½ digits
  • Functions: DCV, ACV, DCI, ACI, 2- and 4-wire resistance, frequency, period, capacitance, temperature
  • Connectivity: USB, LAN (LXI Class C), GPIB
  • Status: Available

The 34410A is the workhorse DMM for automated test systems and calibration labs. It replaced the Agilent 34401A as the go-to bench multimeter, adding LAN connectivity and faster throughput. It remains one of the most searched Keysight models on the secondary market — for good reason. Reliable, well-documented, and broadly supported in LabVIEW and Python environments.

Keysight Data Acquisition & Switching

Keysight 34970A — Data Acquisition / Switch Unit

  • Slot configuration: 3-slot mainframe, accepts 34901A–34908A plug-in modules
  • Built-in DMM: 6½-digit, 22-bit resolution
  • Scan rate: Up to 250 channels/s internally
  • Connectivity: GPIB, RS-232
  • Status: Available

The 34970A has been in continuous demand since its Agilent-era release. Environmental testing, thermal profiling, automated production — it shows up everywhere. We also carry the Agilent 34902A 16-channel multiplexer card, which plugs directly into the 34970A mainframe.

Note: The 34970A was originally sold as the Agilent 34970A and before that as the HP 34970A. All three names refer to the same platform. See the cross-reference table below.

Keysight RF Switching & Specialized Measurement

Keysight N8990 — RF Switch Box

  • Type: RF switching unit for automated test setups
  • Application: Route RF signals between DUTs and measurement instruments without manual re-cabling
  • Status: Available

Keysight N8990K-A96 — RF Switch Box (with A96 option)

  • Type: RF switching unit, specific hardware configuration
  • Option decoding: The “K” suffix indicates a particular hardware build or chassis variant. “A96” denotes a specific factory-installed option — typically a switching path configuration or connector/port option ordered at time of manufacture. These suffixes matter: an N8990K-A96 is not interchangeable with a base N8990 in all setups. Confirm your system’s required configuration before ordering.
  • Status: Available

Both N8990 units are tested and ready to ship. If your automated test system requires a specific option suffix not listed here, contact us — we may be able to source it.

Models Listed in Brief — Current Availability Notes

Some frequently searched Keysight models are not in our current inventory. Transparency matters more than padding a page. Here’s the status:

  • Keysight 34972A (LXI Data Acquisition Unit — the LAN/USB successor to the 34970A): Not currently in stock. We carry the 34970A, which shares the same module ecosystem. Contact us if you specifically need a 34972A.
  • Keysight E4438C (ESG Vector Signal Generator): Not currently in stock. The N5172B is its functional successor and is available. We also carry Agilent-era signal generators — see Agilent inventory.

Keysight to Agilent / HP Cross-Reference

Keysight Technologies spun off from Agilent in 2014. Agilent itself was spun off from Hewlett-Packard in 1999. Many instruments sold across all three eras are the same hardware with different branding on the front panel. If you’re searching for an Agilent model number, you may find it under Keysight — and vice versa.

Here are common cross-references relevant to our inventory:

  • Keysight 34970A = Agilent 34970A = HP 34970A — Data Acquisition / Switch Unit
  • Keysight 34410A = Agilent 34410A — 6½-Digit DMM
  • Keysight 34902A = Agilent 34902A — 16-Channel Multiplexer Module
  • Keysight N5172B = no Agilent/HP equivalent (native Keysight-era product)
  • Keysight E4438C = Agilent E4438C — ESG Vector Signal Generator
  • Keysight 34972A = Agilent 34972A — LXI Data Acquisition Unit
  • Keysight N9020A = Agilent N9020A — MXA Signal Analyzer
  • Keysight 33500B = Agilent 33500B — Trueform Waveform Generator
  • Keysight U2004A = Agilent U2004A — USB Power Sensor
  • Keysight 8753ES = Agilent 8753ES = HP 8753ES — VNA, 30 kHz – 6 GHz

We list equipment under the brand marked on the unit itself. An instrument labeled “Agilent” appears in our Agilent inventory. Older HP-labeled gear is listed under HP & Other OEM Models. Functionally, these are the same instruments regardless of label.
